CAMMINO - DA COLLA MELOSA A BAJARDO

Triora

Description

Leaving the comfortable and strategic stopover at Colla Melosa (altitude 1,542.5 m), descend southeast bypassing the valley side of the Tenarda dam wall (a water collection basin that supplies the city of Sanremo), then continue toward the Langan meadows. From the namesake Colla (altitude 1,123.9 m), follow the wooded ridge leading to the rural Sanctuary of S. Giovanni dei Prati (1,234 m). Then continue south for a long stretch along a trail through ancient woods (mainly beech and chestnut trees), eventually reaching the first holiday homes (Passo Ghimbegna, altitude 887 m) that border the eastern side of the town of Bajardo. The historic core emerges and exudes an ancestral atmosphere that testifies to its Celtic origins.
