Situated between the sea and the mountains, the RivierALP region is easily accessible from France, Italy and the rest of Europe. Whether by train, car, bus or plane, there are several entry points providing access to the routes.

Getting to RivierALP, between the Alps and the Mediterranean

The destination is organised around:
A starting point, three finishing points and several entry points, allowing you to explore the area at your own pace.

Mainstarting point: Limone Piemonte
Finish points: Menton, Sanremo and Imperia

As well as the main departure point and the arrival towns, there are several entry points providing access to the routes

RivierALP at a glance

The starting point: Limone Piemonte

Located in the heart of the Italian Alps, Limone Piemonte is RivierAlp’s main point of departure.

There are several rail links to Limone:

A TER line between Limone and Ventimiglia
You can make the France-Italy connection, on the French side by reaching Ventimiglia with a connection from Nice via Menton, and on the Italian side with a connection from Savona or Genoa.
The Train des Merveilles from Nice to Tende and its connection with the Italian train is another way of getting to Limone.
From Turin, you can reach Limone by train by connecting via Cuneo or Fossano.

There are several airports within easy reach of RivierAlp, the nearest beingNice Côte d’Azur Airport. There are also airports in Genoa and Turin. Once you’ve landed, you can travel by train.

By car

Limone can be reached :

From Menton or San Remo via the D6204
From Nice via the D2204 and then the D6204
From Cuneo via the SS20

From Menton

Situated on the French-Italian border, Menton is one of RivierAlp’s main arrival points, between the Mediterranean and the mountains.

From Nice, take :

Exit 59 (Menton) from the A8 motorway
Exit 57 (La Turbie) and follow the desired direction (Menton, Beausoleil, Roquebrune-Cap-Martin…)
Take exit 56 (Monaco) and follow the signs for Menton, Beausoleil, Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, etc.

From Italy, take :

Exit 59 (Menton) from the A8 motorway
Exit 58 (Roquebrune-Cap-Martin) and follow the desired direction (Menton, Beausoleil, Roquebrune-Cap-Martin…)
Take the Ventimiglia exit off the A10 motorway and follow signs for Menton via the seafront

Menton station is located in the centre of Menton (served by TGV, LGV and TER trains).

Route 600 (Menton-Monaco-Nice centre) takes you to Nice in about 1 hour 40 minutes via the coast: Timetable

Route 80 takes you from Menton to Nice (airport) via the motorway in 1h15 min.
