The right thing to do
Respect wildlife and natural areas
- Don’t feed the animals.
- I observe wildlife without getting too close.
- I am discreet so as to preserve the peace and quiet of the mountains and not disturb the ecosystems.
- I do not pick plants or walk on hay meadows.
- I respect the ban on swimming in high-altitude lakes, whose ecosystem is fragile.
- I close the fences to prevent the herds from straying.

Adopt good habits on the trails and when bivouacking
- I stay on the marked paths without cutting the laces to avoid soil erosion and preserve the vegetation.
- I bring back all my rubbish; for my natural needs, I bury excrement and keep paper in my rubbish bag.
- When bivouacking, I pitch my tent for one night only, from evening to early morning, and I leave no trace of my passage.
- I don’t light fires outside dedicated and authorised areas.
Responsible roaming
- The use of drones is regulated; I find out about authorised areas via Géoportail.
- Protecting the mountains starts at the start of your journey: I opt for more sustainable modes of transport such as car-sharing, public transport or cycling.
